Blood in Ireland
British rule in Northern Ireland has been contested for centuries. For the most part, the Protestants of Northern Ireland want to remain part of England. On the other hand, most Catholics from Northern Ireland want to leave the United Kingdom and become part of the Republic of Ireland. The conflict between these two groups has often led to bloody battles. While peace has recently been reached between the two sides, the agreement between the two is still fragile. If Henry VIII had not left the Catholic Church, the conflict between the two groups may never have arisen in the first place. If Henry had left England as a Catholic state, it is possible that Northern Ireland could have been perfectly peaceful today.
